 Weekend Charters Laker Pictures
« Thread Started on May 19, 2009, 6:03am »

We hosted Gary, a bass fisherman from Boston with local roots, on Saturday. The rain and wind slowed us down a bit at mid-day, but we still landed 6 largemouth on Kings Bay in the morning and 3 dandy smallmouth off Cumberland Head in the afternoon, before getting soaking wet and calling it a day.

On Sunday we hosted three gentlemen from the South Shore, Quebec. We managed to land 12 nice lake trout while fighting a strong west wind. Four of the trout were over 9 pounds. Our tally is 230 lake trout for the charter season and counting. Here are our two biggest lakers for the day...

Jaques Fish, 9 pounds, 8 ounces...

Gille's Fish, 9 pounds, 11 ounces...

We have 5 charters on the books for Memorial Day weekend and week, so stand by for next week's report!

Capt. Mick,

It's nice to read about numbers and tally's ie. body counts. Could you provide details about depths fished and lures used and more pertinent information that can help people on the forum. Maybe some general locations also would help if someone wanted to fish lakers.

I remember another captain that boasted hundreds of lakers last year over 9 lbs who doesn't frequent our forum. It just would be great to talk strategies and tackle to help folks.

Thanks for reporting.

Hello Ron,

I do give up loads of info. I gave up general locations for the bass in this thread and those who frequent this forum know where I catch my lake trout. I even gave up a handful of laker GPS coordinates in a 2009 article in a National hunting and fishing magazine. Just check my posts, my site, or the Rotary tournament tabloid for this and last year's derby and you'll find articles about how and where I catch my fish. If that's not good enough you can call or write me. I'll be glad to "lead a horse to water". Can't make em drink though! Thanks...

Capt. Mick,

I don't read the articles or frequent your site. It just had the feel of advertising (the cold water reports) when reading the numbers here recently without details to the threads. Maybe just my observations only.

Thanks for your reply.

Good fishing!

Ron

Ron,

I acknowledge, you could be right ;) But then I see lots of numbers from others here, both Charter Captains and everyday anglers. You're right, numbers are OK, but photos and details are better. Have a great season!

Capt:

Great job on the lakers! You would have been a welcomed addition to the Finger Lakes Corp.
