Commander, I believe your poll question was for lake Champlain? Just wanted to throw in a comment about Browns, as Ivan saw a decline in Brown numbers on Champlain. We saw an increase in Browns form Ice out until late July. Then pretty much non existent. The ones we did catch averaged 18 inches. We also put some big guys in the boat up to 23 inches. I also know others that boated browns over 25 inches. One weighed in at over 7#s.

We only fished lakers about 7 hours this year as we focused on salmon exclusively. 5 of those hours was March 31st along the fill our shakedown cruise.
With 152 hours logged this year and 31 outings I will go against the grain on this thread and say we were similar to last year in terms of salmon caught as size was up on a dozen fish as outings increased. Lamprey hits about the same in all areas of the lake we fished. With that being said we had a pretty decent 2008 Fall season to compare this season against overall in 2009.
Browns were plentiful in April almost 50/50 with salmon. We caught more browns than I have every seen although most were 17"-18" with a few good ones.
My two busiest months were April and November. We had a stretch from June 13 to July 13 I didn't fish here which can be some of the best fishing for salmon. August was the best salmon fishing I have ever seen! We had a few nice Eye's to show for it as well.
On the big pond we had the best Spring fishing ever in 30 years over in Lake Ontario. Going 51 for 53 on big big Spring Silver Kings in 5 days straight of fishing in the Loc tournament. We had a personal best 20 lb King and the first time the boat has ever broke 20 lbs on derby certified scales in the Spring with Salmon Seeker's prize that was on the board for 3 days before getting bumped. Some people believe that Spring fish aren't big, but a 20 lb fish (Spring benchmark fish) is as hard to catch as a 30 lb King around Labor day. They will put on 10 lbs from May 1 to Sept. 1st on those matures.
Lake Huron was a struggle for the 2 days we fished August 1st with the second day being the one day derby. But, everyone was struggling so it was taken in stride. The locals blamed it on the wind and the cold summer there. Water temps were all over the place.
However, in late August on Huron with the return trip with Tamiron's break thru suggestion (speed program and Optimizers) and a change of location to a new area near the end of the 5 days (7 outings) we hit paydirt with some hot action that last evening.
Overall, I will say outstanding on all three waters for us and some great outings. Can't wait for 2010!
Congratulations to Ivan and others who had breakthru numbers this season!

Numbers are through the roof on salmon, still concerned for the browns as we only boated a few all year. From Elm point to Hospital creek use to be loaded with them but not anymore. The size of the salmon at the Crown Point Bridge in the spring seems to have doubled along with the number of salmon in the area. The numbers and size of the salmon this fall were great also. TOdd

Got out on Otter today. 5"s all the way in the middle where I was (off Kellog Bay rd). Some spots did not look so good. Fished for almost 2 hours. Not a bite!
