A busy Memorial Day week kicked off for Lake Champlain Angler Charters on Friday with Doug Brockway and his crew. We boated 12 lake trout in 6 hours with Doug and Co. We're still getting them in 50 - 70 feet, right on bottom with lake trolls. Water temps reach 50 mid-day. Plattsburgh Bay and Valcour Island proved to be good locations for the Friday trip. We spent two hours looking for salmon near Ausable Point but didn't find them. Doug's son Matt got the biggest laker of the day, a 9 pound 13 ounce fish shown here...

On Saturday we hosted Kevin Sanford's group and things were a bit slower although we did get four dandy lake trout and a nice fat brown. The lakers came down and dirty with lake trolls and the brown was caught off the causeway on the Malletts Bay side. Water in the main lake was 50 degrees and 57 in Malletts Bay. Caught the brown on a black and white w/ pink spot Honey Bee on a slider/cheater 15' down. Big fish for the day was caught by the only lady on board...

On Sunday May 24 we guided some experienced bass anglers from NY and PA. Together we managed to land 18 largemouth and smallmouth bass, and several pike. Many of the bass we caught were shallow running males prepping beds. The big females were cruising in wolf packs out in 15 - 20 feet of water staging for the spawn.
