Did a couple more pike charters over the past few days and caught some real nice ones once again, mostly while throwing spinnerbaits. On August 28th I hosted Tom and Sherry M. who had just dropped their daughter off at UVM. They wanted to try a little Lake Champlain fishing, so we went out for four hours and banged 24 northern pike and 10 largemouth bass total. Here’s one about 34 inches long that Sherry brought to the net…

I did a six hour charter with Duane and Jan I. from Florida on August 30th. We boated over 30 pike, a good number of largemouth bass and one bowfin while fighting a brisk wind. We saw a huge northern that would have surely been the biggest of the season had it been hooked and landed. Here are a couple photos of their Lake Champlain trophies…

Hey mab555,
Looked like it was at least 15 pounds, but it's hard to tell for sure. Plenty long enough, and very wide too! It took three quick swipes near the boat but missed all three. On the very next cast had one on briefly. Not sure if it was the same fish.

I'm good Dennis. I hope all is well with you. I made it to Champlain once so far this year and might get up that way again in October. Got a 4lb Walleye and some blue gils. Been camping in the ADK's got my first landlock in eighth lake. Yesterday was in the Hudson river in Albany and I got I think my first Blue cat. Tomorrow going to Sacandaga and next weekend going to Seneca lake for the week. Fingerlakes meet hooking up with Ed and Pete. Lakers, and pike beware. Now what about you what you been up to.

Not a lot Frank. Getting on the water a couple times a week or so, mostly the smaller local lakes and ponds. Still looking for a DECENT job, seems all I can find around here are ditch jobs and I'm sick and tired of being in a ditch.  Body doesn't handle it as well as it did 20 years ago. Trying to quit smoking, thats been back and forth. Tell Pete and Ed I said Hey. Oh and I want to apologize to Capt. Mick. Didn't mean to hijack your thread.  Take it easy Frank and Good Luck to you.
