Anyone else seeing dead bass floating around ? I have a bunch of them washing up around my place...all in the 3 lb range from the looks of them, nothing smaller than that. And bass only, nothing else. Wondering if it was lakewide or just a local thing.

Any tournaments in the area lately ?? Sundown I dont have enough fingers and toes to count them all. I was wondering if they were hauling the fish out away from the ramps to release them, a south wind from the Ti area would bring them right to me.

I think there was one this weekend. A lot of bass boats on Sunday in the area I fish where there are most of the time none.

Thats hilarious...I looked at that and spit a mouthfull of coffee on my keyboard. I know where your going, but I asked because their have been other die offs down here, last one a couple years ago a F&G bio collected some of them for testing to check for that virus their concerned about. Just wondering if anyone else was seeing it before I chalk it up to normal mortality.

There were a lot of BIG bass tournaments this past weekend. I believe that there was one out of Ti on Sunday.

I know that FLW goes out of Plattsburg this week, thus the reason for all the boats.

I know, Maefly, I just couldn't help myself. ;D i saw this pic posted on another forum a year or so back and did the same thing as you, spit out my coffee from laughing so i saved it waiting for the chance to use it myself - thanks for the opportunity!

nice post harkness...love it ;D ;D ;D Lots of bass tourneys lately. I hope it's not from them...but then, that's better than a weird die-off.

There was bass tournament out of Apple Island marina recently. Two days later what did we see? Dead bass. Guys that hold these events out of the marina are required to release the fish outside the no wake buoys (13) feet as to try to cut down on the kill. On two trips right after the tourney My clients including kids asked why all the dead fish? They most likely will not become Bass tourney guys. Flw is this week. I will be glad when it is done. ;D Capt. Tony www.anbradoncharters.com

Delayed mortality is a big problem with tourneys...I've seen the same thing in the Malletts bay area from tourneys . I really hate to see it. I've been thinking of sponsoring a Lunker only tournament...that way the anglers are only bringing in one fish. A tournament like this would likely bring 100 or so fish in during a 150 angler tourney rather than 500....and each fish would have an entire live well to help them survive.
