 Another weekend of upland hunting
« Thread Started on Nov 3, 2009, 8:55pm »

I haven't been on the lake yet because I've been trying to get as much hunting with my dog as possible. Hunted Sat AM and all day Sunday. Sat with a buddy was 2 limits of woodcock and Sunday with another buddy and 2 kids we got into an insane amount of birds and my French Britt rocked. We ended the day with 9 woodcock and 2 grouse. One of the kids took his first grouse ever over one of my dogs points and the other got his first woodcock ever over a point. A great weekend.

Typical Champlain Valley woodcock cover.

Walking in on a point..you can just see my dog below my shotgun muzzle.

Hmmm, a video. It's pretty thick where we hunt but I'll have to think about it and see if it's manageable.

brings back a lot of memories for me.. I used to hunt over a brittany whenI was a teen, a friend had a great dog and we slayed em down here in rutland county, I wonder if those coverts still hold woodcock?
