i like the start anywhere idea for the next derby, we could say start any where at dawn and report at point bay at 1:00pm

It wasn't against the rules for this derby. It stated you needed to be at Converse for the start and back by 1pm. The whole lake was open. I watched everyone unload, talked with Shawn and another official who were wondering why I wasn't in my boat, explained I was fishing further north and it wasn't feasible to boat there (6hp motor). Got the green light to head to the ramp I needed from the officials and off I went. Fished, loaded boat and headed back to Converse. I didn't splash my boat in the water until 7:20.
