Very good response Capt. Tony. I also run riggers close & pull the lead if I have a good fish on the rigger. IF I have a lead core on each side of the boat & say I get a fish on the left lead core, I will circle the boat in that direction while reeling in the fish to try & keep away from the right lead. It works most of the time unless the fish tangles them first. Jerry

Thanks Capt. Tony & Jerry Interested information as I haven't used lead line in a while. Is there a brand of lead line that you prefer. Thanks Captain Bill Birch Captain Bill, I believe the brand I have is a Cabelas brand. there are many different companies that make it. Here is how I set it up I use 150 yards power pro braid 20# test.(It has a 8# diameter) I then put my Lead core on. I use 18# lead core. There are different types of pound test for lead core. But it is just the sheathing(Dacron) that has the pound test. the inside lead as far as I know is the same. Once the lead is on I pull back about 6 inches of the sheathing snip off the lead. I then make a loop in the Dacron. I then attach 30-40 feet of 10# mono to that. To that I attach a barrel swivel. To the other end of the barrel swivel I use 6 feet 8# test fluorocarbon for my leader. So what I end up with is 20# backing on the reel, then 18# lead, then 10# mono, then swivel and 8# fluorocarbon. Hope this helps! Capt. Tony
