Lowrance has purchased Eagle and my faithful Eagle Elite 640 is now Discontinued. I love my Eagle and it is still more fishfinder than I need. But I cracked its Navionics card last year! Contacting Navionics I found that the no longer provide Navionics on the Discontinued MMC SD card? All new Navionics are MSD and Micro chip format?? I don't understand much of that?? But after searching Ebay for hours I did find a used but like new Navionic MMC card for the North East($92) . Just barely covers Lake Champlain? Contacted Lowrance and there best recommendation was to buy a new Lowrance Elite 7 and a new Navionics card. Ok! That would be about $900! Too much money for an old duffer on SS! Fingers crossed that when I plug the used navionics card into my old Eagle it will provide Champlain depth maps for next Spring's salmon trolling? If not I will resort to using my old Eagle to search for fish marks in water and depths that have been successful in the past. That might be best for me since my recent high tech decision was to replace my old flip phone for a TracFone android. Dick

Finally found a MMC Northern Navionics SD card at $92 from Ebay! I plan to put it too work in April at Inland Sea and May at Lake Winnipesaukee. Right now it looks as if I will need it to find Inland Sea small mouth that are seated at 40 to 50 deep over deep water. Seriously thinking about downriggers with silver and brass Mepps spinners or live shiners?? Dick

I say we just stick with catching what we can catch in shallow water without having to risk barotrauma.
