That's great Barry but it would be nice if they stop slinging cow s%#! by the lake and by streams that feed into the lake! BINGO !!! Happens to be one of my pet peeves. Spread right up to and into the waters edge around the south lake.

Great...Now we are bashing the only people that keep the land open in VT...
I don't suppose the fact that we have gone from over 11,000 farms in 1948. to less than 1,500 in 2003 makes a difference to anyone...
Phosphates in the lake is a multi-fold issue, and can not simply be laid on any one source's doorstep...

You're absolutly right; there is many way that phosphates are going to the lake: think about the big house or cottage with a super nice grass that is fertilize to be that nice, unadequate septics system and etc...

Guys from the North You’ve got to be kidding? In this day and age? Shaye is looking for ways to educate and to help! Are we still so petty as to say “all …” Italians, Irish, Germans, Poles, Europeans, Native Americans, Canadians, Vermonters, New Yorkers, Whites, Blacks, Orientals ? Can we as a nation accept this level of prejudice by excusing comments that start with “in my experience” or “in my opinion” or “maybe this isn’t always the case” and then go on to make a statement that blankets an entire people? I would say that each of us should be very sure to have our own house in order before we make such absurd generalizations and if we judge then how will we be judged? ?. In ludo’s case, somebody might offer to tell him what he is doing wrong and that he should practice far from the “pack”. Then he will learn the right way and pass it on. Reggie could have pointed ludo to the nearest tackle shop but instead he shared some of his own tackle and has earned the respect and admiration of one of those “guys from the north” Sorry guys, but my grandfather came across “on the boat” and was forced to work in the coal mines in PA to support a family. That’s just one generation removed from me and I don’t like the “lumping process” one bit! No need to be sorry. I am a believer in free speech . People want to state there opinions? That is clearly there right to do so. We all know everyone will not agree on everything. People are allowed and should continue to be allowed to voice there opinions. Will some get hurt feelings? Sure they will. It does not matter if someone states it is there " personal experience, there belief,or there opinion. What is important is they are FREE to make there statement. Capt. Wood oven baked bagels? Hmmm, can't be bad. Never heard of them but I'm in. If I get to Montreal will look out for those.

Back to Fishing Ethics! I fished the mouth of the Winooski for a couple of hours on Sunday. Several guys out running boards 150 ft+ in traffic. I saw this coming a long ways away. I put out a warning on the radio about the length of the planerboard lines long before this happened but nobody answered. I got pinched between 2 of them. I understand that stuff like this happens. I grabbed my boards that were only out mabe 50 to 60 ft. and had to pull one of them almost all the way to the boat to avoid a board collision. I might not have minded this so much if the guy next to me that was out at least 150 had even touched his. Instead he just sat there watching me handline mine in while he did nothing at all! Needless to say I gave him a short verbal lesson about fishing ethics and courtesy. A little reaction and help would have been nice. Thorny

Never could understand these idiots with 150' planner boards running though everyone. I have seen guys cut their boards off. I've had them trap me between their boards and shore.
