Hearing this on the radio on monday and then the follow-up that it was released... Well, that is an awesome fish anyway but only 10% of my awe is the catch. 90% of my awe is how proud I am of you guys (whom I never have even met) for releasing that fish AND doing all you did to assure that it remained cool and as healthy for release as possible. Don't get me wrong- I have no problem eating my share of fish but some fish just need to be sent back "home."
Sincere admiration and congrationals.

I have to agree 100% with this post. I eat a lot of salmon but think it is great that this fish was released. My hat is off on an amazing fish and a release.

Fantastic catch. That salmon really wanted to be in your boat. Many of us aren't given a 2nd, 3rd or 4th chance to net a monster silver like that, especially when trying to net a fish from behind.

Thanks every one! We too like to eat our share of fish, but this one certainly didn't belong on our table (just in our boat!) We did keep a few from the weekend, but none of the ones we weighed in. We figure if they've made it to that point without anyone or anything else eating them, well then they should go back into the lake. We hope to see as many of you as possible at the awards on Saturday! We're planning on a nice relaxing day of fishing before, so we'll be on the lake if any of you guys are give us a yell! I think we'll be launching from Button Bay
