OK Guys,
The idea of this post was to add POSITIVE thoughts and comments as to how we all can further enjoy our sport. Comments about individuals or our guest to the north should NOT be here. A suggestion on how to improve a behavior is generally done by a suggestion of an alternative behavior. Suggestions on how to make things better was the idea. Lets start it with this post by keeping it positive. There have been many good comments and I think if we all work on OUR OWN conduct it will make a difference.
Thanks and have fun out there.
Don

Hey lemdog, welcome from another bass fisherman. There are a bunch on here.
Yes, your experience is anything but unique. The old guy I bought my camp from used to fish with had a 17' Sears Game fisher with a 9.9 many years ago. It would happen to him too when he was out for crappies/perch. He couldn't figure out the attraction either. What we didn't know until years after he could no longer get out to fish alone was he had a sawed off shotgun in the boat! We started yelling at him but he didn't care. He was an old school WWII vet who was P-51 plane mechanic. No one was telling him nothing. Funny but not. Thank god he never used it. God bless his sole.

Sorry if I offended anybody, You can lead a horse to water but ... you know the rest of the story. I think that most all forum members go out of thier way to be good samaritans on and off the water and are positive. but the reality is that the people who really need to work on their behavior aren't reading this..... once again, Sorry if I offended anyone, reeldeal SR.

Don:
Here's one for you - a slight variation from mother's golden rule!
Tell the truth at all times or don't talk!
Don't claim that you are catching fish (or have caught) …. in a particular area .… in a certain way …. with particular lures …. at a specific depth …. Etc. when you are not!!!!!!
Anyway, you get the idea! The old “misdirect” play has no place in this sport. If you choose to keep secrets, it’s absolutely better than lying.
Every one finds out sooner or later when someone has acquired the habit of exaggeration (euphemism for lying) and that their word isn’t worth much! But the damage can be extensive to those people who trust them and waste money, gas, time and the opportunity of having a good trip and perhaps starting a “new” fisherperson to the sport.
After all, mother can't be wrong?

Reeldeal, I've been out on the merrimac a number of times and the idiots there make you appreciate how well behaved most Lake Champlain fishermen are!

My mindset has been along those lines to such an extent, that I have not posted any report(s) whatsoever, as they have been so inconsequential as to mean nothing to anyone... On the water since last Thursday; have had 5 fish in that time, including three skunked days... I'll be annoying when I have something to brag about... ;D

OK Guys, The idea of this post was to add POSITIVE thoughts and comments as to how we all can further enjoy our sport. Comments about individuals or our guest to the north should NOT be here. I'm from the North and I agree with Capt Tony: guys from the North are not the best people who acting with courtesy. It's a reason why I prefer to come fish here. I came from a small city and you guys your are like people from my city: talk to everyone, helping each other, I like that! (Remember Instigator in december when I forgot my tackle box) The big reason we have difficulty to drive with planer board: we don't really need to use them, the fact is we can not use 2 rodes per person. So planer is new for a lot from the North. Saturday, I was include in the 9/10 of Capt Tony, it was my first time with planer board. A rookie have met the professionnal ! But be sure that next time I will take care of your planer board. Each time I am coming on this lake, i do my best to don't act like the other one in the North and I am trying to convince friends who are coming fishing here to be your best friends, to give you their reports. I am not here to steal your fish, I am here because I feel like home.

Guys from the North You’ve got to be kidding? In this day and age? Shaye is looking for ways to educate and to help! Are we still so petty as to say “all …” Italians, Irish, Germans, Poles, Europeans, Native Americans, Canadians, Vermonters, New Yorkers, Whites, Blacks, Orientals ? Can we as a nation accept this level of prejudice by excusing comments that start with “in my experience” or “in my opinion” or “maybe this isn’t always the case” and then go on to make a statement that blankets an entire people? I would say that each of us should be very sure to have our own house in order before we make such absurd generalizations and if we judge then how will we be judged? ?. In ludo’s case, somebody might offer to tell him what he is doing wrong and that he should practice far from the “pack”. Then he will learn the right way and pass it on. Reggie could have pointed ludo to the nearest tackle shop but instead he shared some of his own tackle and has earned the respect and admiration of one of those “guys from the north” Sorry guys, but my grandfather came across “on the boat” and was forced to work in the coal mines in PA to support a family. That’s just one generation removed from me and I don’t like the “lumping process” one bit!
