Randy, Paul & Mike,
Could not agree more with you, even if in the past I wasn't exactly the most open for giving infos but I change my mind specially because of you're generosity and I also realize that it's a put & take resource. The more money the Vt F&W and the NY DEC will get the more power they will have when it's time to negotiate with politicians about budget & spending.
Tourism is a excellent source of new money for a government.

You know, that is what I LOVE about the Admiral, Jud Swenor's Fishing Hot Line is you can Call him at 802-425-2020 and he will give anyone the lowdown on what, where, when. The number of "New Fishermen" he has encouraged shown how to fish despite that he may be "sharing His" private fish is a true measure of a Great Fisherman and Person. This site is great because of the sharing and encouragement that is here. Read any of the past posts of new YOUNG people signing on. Getting more people to fish should make us a better fishery and recipients of funding for such. Many of us have fished more days than are now left to us. These young new people are the future of our sport and not some closed society. Keeping secrets won't make you a better fisherman, just makes you think you are.....sorry if I disagree with any of the above views. Fish On ! Randy Im glad you guys feel its necessary to hand everyone a fish on a platter. Thats your opinion , So be it. I like to tell people where the fish are also. But they will be people that I know have been out there working and learning the lake. Thats part of fishing! I don't need to post the exact spot to build up my own ego! I also feel like you have less respect for the veteran fisherman when you post a spot that some of us have been fishing for many years. Or happen to be working at the time. We keep a boat in the water. So don't worry we won't be waiting in line to launch our boat. The guys in line will be thinking of you! Right fishinmachine?

We keep a boat in the water. So don't worry we won't be waiting in line to launch our boat. The guys in line will be thinking of you! Right fishinmachine? Ben, I am with you. To each his own. But we all know even the Admiral as well as many others with comments here do NOT give out free information all the time to anyone. Come on guys step up and be real. Are there many who are willing to help others that help themselves? You bet. Check the archives under Capt. Tony as well as many many others. It is no secret. But nothing in life should be a free ride either. Razzle Dazzle, where did you get your information when you were struggling on Champlain and could not buy a Salmon? Ron Leduc if I am not mistaken? Where did he get the information from??? Hmmm a friend named Tony??? There is plenty of help and information and it is freely given. This site is the best site I have ever seen. But as will all things with the good comes the bad. We all have our opinion and the right to share or not share our information. There was a time when this site had the information. t still does. But folks should not crap on others who decide not to give out as much information as they used to. As far as referring to "friends from the north"? I do have many Friends from northern Vermont. As far as referring to folks from Canada forgetting common sense and basic fishing etiquette? No way If they gripe it is the minority and not the majority? My response is OK MAJORITY Step up!!!!!!! LET The minority know what they are doing is wrong!! Stereotypes if that is what you wish to call them came from somewhere!!! Enough is enough. No more tip toe. No more sugar coat!. Say it like it is. Yup just reached down and I can still feel them!!! To be clear it is not just aimed at the folks from Canada. It is for all idiots that don't have common sense. But once again it seems to me at least there is more issues with guys from the north. Education education !!!! Capt. my bet is that by the time July is here, very few people will be posting where they are "pounding the salmon". If some of you want to broadcast the news that is your right...,I tell some people where I catch fish but I don't tell everybody, which is what you do if you post it on the forum or if you call it on 68...what about the guy that told you? unless he wants me to tell everyone, I don't

Yeah, no kidding... Didn't know this thread was still going on. We get it! Those without ethics aren't posting here!!! Maybe reading? I don't know. Just want to keep you guys from boiling up your blood. Seems like your chumming the same waters here... All coming from a good angle. I was fishing this lake for years before knowing about the forum. Here is blindsight benefit that you are overlooking from a newer member. A) Who knew such a connected/ caring community existed? B) Learning how people are fishing/ what they are fishing for gives me greater strength as a boat operator to be a safe operator. Maybe even a more receptive operator, knowing a community of folks. As for where the fish are using the radio? I still can't understand more than Fish On!! in french, (I think that's cause they say it in english to par le vou some good old fashioned excitement.)

Tamiron mentioned misdirecting others by giving false information. A number of years ago I caught a nice salmon off Cannon Pt. south of Essex, NY. Showed a friend of mine who asked where'd you get it. I told him Hogsback which is up the mouth of the Boquet River about a quarter mile, at least 5 miles from Cannon Pt. Two days later he pulls into my yard with a seven lb. salmon. He told me "I caught it right where you said right off Hogsback." Joke on me.

plantstone: I think the "fish on" excitement have been popularized by Cyril Chauquet from his TV Show "Mordu de la PĂȘche", a famous french fisherman, that live in Montreal : When we don't say that, we use (and bored to listen that) : "Yes sir !"

Tamiron mentioned misdirecting others by giving false information. Misdirection is an indicator of a liar... It goes beyond ethics. Now we start dealing with credibility and trust.

I have always been one to put people on fish when I could whether it be a stream or a pond or lake. This forum is a great source of information and it allows even a novice to go out and catch something. It is also great for the local businesses as it tells you what is working. Taping seminars give you more insight. Unfortunately there are those out there that believe if they tell you where they are fishing and catching fish you will catch all "their" fish. Sadly my brother is one of these BIG SECRET people. I have also been on Lake Ontario where I was doing ok but a friend of mine was killing the kings and he gave me the coordinates over the radio and boy did all hell let loose about him doing that....within minutes the area was swamped and the yelling commenced by the guys dragging 1000 feet of copper etc. Point being these fish are going to die anyway so who cares about catching them. I have had charter captains cut me off and curse because "they are making a living, and have customers" So be it. But I have seen them p-o someone and them go and cut there lines. Then there are the ones who have to blow by you and wake you into next week but just do it to them.......I have not run into any issues on Lake champlain and have found the captains here more than glad to give you info....definitely not like Lake George. The best cartoon is "we have to get rid of the Jetskiers first" sums it up....so all I can say is "Can't we all just get along"
