I went over last friday on my lunch break hoping to pick up a couple of "lucky" lures, only to find all they had was CRAP!!! Nothing for deep divers all stuff for bass fishing. WTF??? Guess I will have to just go back to Datillio's and spend my pay check..... Much rather support a local store anyways, but after having to go to lures anonymous a few years back that is not the ideal place for a lure buying junky....

Went to Dick's a few weeks ago and saw very little for salmonoid fishing gear. I love Datillio's and I love Dockside but next time you're in Burlington try Classic Outfitters. Its not just a fly fishing store and I was pretty surprised by the selection of spoons and stick baits they had in there. Many of the "hot" spoons were out of stock when I was there but the selection was still good. I agree, shop locally!!

I used to buy promo shot-shells at Dicks when they first opened...Last two seasons Walmart has kicked their butt on prices for shells and clays...
Not much I want at WallyWorld, but the shells and clays are USA made...
Dicks has never had a lure I wanted yet...

Dicks' lure selection is awful. They do have a whole wall of musky looking stuff big enough to scare my dogs, and tons of bass plastics, but only a very small section of Mich Stingers that haven't been tempting. They also stopped stocking the Magda line counter reels in the 15 and 20 sizes. I get Needlefish at Classic Outfitters, and prefer to shop "locally" at Dattilios, Dockside and Midd Field Sports (or directly with Pat at CI!).

Hey Guys
Just wanted to remind you all that we do custom painting at Crazy Ivan Lures, so if you cannot find specific patterns that you want, give me a call and I can paint them up for you.

If you are in Morrisville stop by I have 2+ sheets of pegboard with spoons and more than an isle of hard baits. The best part is they are never out of season with empty shelves. Ramel

Here's another vote for the local guys. I think I've visited a majority of them over the last week or two.
We've been to Dockside, Classic Outfitters (been going here for a long time), Dattilio's (ditto on long time customer), and today visiting the Old fishing hole in Morrisville. I think Dattilio's and the Old fishing hole win the awards for fitting the most stuff per square foot, WOW!
The most help was provided at Dockside and The Fishing hole. They went out of their way to give me guidance. Also, people like Pat have also provided great assistance via e-mail.

Dicks and Gander both seem to be catering towards bass fishing....with no local shops around me (that i know of) it really sucks!

How did I not know about The Fishing Hole in Morrisville? I knew I had a problem with fishing gear purchases when I was telling people I was going to the bar and I would go to Datillios instead... I found myself on my hands and knees going through their new shipment of tackle in the garage, before they even put it out on the shelves...... Last I checked there are not any meetings for this type of addiction....
