Well my family and I made our yearly run to R.I. to fill the freezer for winter with fresh Striper, and once again Capt. Tim Terranova out of Watchill where the BONITA II is docked came through again for us. A dark and gloomy day with little wind was special that day. Usually it's rainy and windy when we go but this year we did the afternoon trip which I was nervous about as we normally due the morning trip , but I could tell it was the best weather for stripers and as we boarded the boat the Captain looked at us and said " It's a perfect day to fish" to which we all agreed. After a short run to his fishing grounds the first mate Matt lets the line out on the first rod, engages the spool, hands to my son Dan, and the first fish was on quicker than the time it took me to type the first three words of this sentence. This went on for 3 hours and that may not sound like alot but you only have 2 people fishing at any given time, and in that time we boated 20 Stripers and 10 or so Blues while other boats around us just watched as they were catching very little. We had 4 Stripers that were just short of 28" so they got to live and get bigger for next year, but all of the rest of them were all beauties with the best one weighing in at 32lbs. Trolling drop offs and reefs and rips are what Capt. Tim does best. Can't wait till next year! Here's a few pics from the day Dans fish taking drag Deena's battle Cody's fish took 2nd Debs fish Mike goes to work reeling his big fish Here's the Family Photo Thanks for looking!
