We got back later yesterday then we should have having come off the water at 11 am with our limit. Little detour through the Bronx ate up an hour. Don't even ask how the hell we ended up there.
We did get our limit but fishing was tough early and fish we got were on the small side running 28 to 32" or so. Also got several blues one was a big. Still we had a good time and was nice fishing in the sun for the first time in 3 trips. We had six guys with one rookie who had a good time. We all were tired puppies by time we wrapped up fishing at 10:30. Some pictures/captions below:
Rookie John Wayman of Crown Point and a high school friend gets his first bass. He found out this way of fishing is hard work!
Mike Wilson another high school friend who put the first trip together 3 years ago fights a fish.
John fights another one with Mike's help.
Carl who I used to work with and a 2 year veteran fights a bass. We had a double going at the time as did the far boat. The boat in the middle had one on. We are much closer then appears in the picture. Can you say circus?
Our catch for the day pulled for count check and filleting.
Yours truly with a couple bass
We had a good time as we caught our limit for the 3rd time out on the Sea Wife IV. Captain Tom gets a little excited but he always gets us on fish.
P.S. As an added bonus we got to see a US submarine come into view as it made its way up the coast to Norfolk. For as big as they are, they are very small profile on the surface that we would have missed had not the first mate pointed it out. Didn't have a camera good enough to pick it up in the distance.
