People have been asking about our success so far this season. So far, the weather has been running the show, as most of you already know. We've managed a few charters and had to postpone a couple as well. Lake trout has been our most cooperative specie to date. We've boated 58 trout so far. 22 fish was our best day out - A calm warm day last week. Captain Mike Tarasavage will be chartering with me this season to take overflow and parties who want to do very specialized trips that he is proficient at. Mike has been fishing on Champlain all his life. We've been close friends for over 20 years and have been networking on the lake for most of that time. He has spent several seasons fishing commercially in Alaska. He will be a real asset to the charter service. We already have a good number of trips scheduled for him. I might add that the trout we've been catching right now are off a shelf in deep water (120') they come up the ledge to about 70'-80' and we get them to bite there, right on the bottom. That's how I've been doing it every spring for the past several years and it works every time. There is loads of bait in that 120' depth, so that's a good sign for the forage base.
