Not sure if there is any solution to the problem, fishing being what it is. But I have noticed that if you look at the threads, few provide actual reports, and hundreds view. From my recollection, this did not use to be the case. I understand that people want to protect their "honey holes", but surely vague rather the exact details could be provided. Lures, bait, time of the day. I have not fished locally yet this year, for those who would say " were in the hell are your reports. I have posted in the past, and I could certainly be better about it, and will try to be. I usually don't post unless I have a picture worth sharing. Went to Isle Mujeres, Mexico in January with my brother and 4 other guys. 39 sailfish in 2 days. BJM

the problem (as I see it) if you post where you caught fish there will be 40 boats there tommorrow.this forum and the Lake Champlain United forum are wonderful tools for fisherman .,but you have to be very careful what you say. Also, the fact that there are now 2 forums, makes it a pain to post the same info on both forums..especially pictures.I have refrained from posting lately simply because I haven't been out much.I do have a post on Port Henry on the LCU forum from last Saturday. Also,it seems the boys up North seem to prefer the LCU forum over this one.............Frank

I suppose that the other forum is where the folks that used to post hang out. I cant look at the reports on the other forum to see what area is covered, but the public part of it looks like a predominately north lake forum. Maybe the guys are quieter now about the Port Henry to Converse area because they saw what reports in the past generated...lots of boats. But here's a report for you: Caught a bass off the dock Sunday afternoon that was an easy 6 lbs., on my favorite little gold phoebe, and if it wasn't for the aggravation of Photo Bucket I would have taken a pic and posted it. I know where she hides so I'll point her out to Schodak next time he drops by ;D

Damn, I missed her! I was down there Thursday and got some small ones in that area. Saw some big ones but no hits. Dock looks good by the way. I'll call next time!!!! I didn't have any beer with me Thursday. Long story.

Got like 60 or so in Ti Last Fri and Sat- mostly all fairly small. Jigs, shallow cranks, some other various baits~ but mostly that. Water mostly 57/58 degrees and into the hi/mid 60's in the backwaters. Pike bit me off a lot it seemed. Lots of Gar and Carp up shallow

That's how it was for me Thursday, lot's of small fish with one weighing 3lb. Friday got few fish but better ones. 4.o, 3.25, 3.0, 2.5, and 1.75 were the best 5. Best 4 on a jig also.

I have been lurking. I haven't been able to get out yet this year so I don't have much to add. I'm probably not alone.

Ditto above.. I was out last Saturday out of Converse. Saw at least a dozen boats. Radio, dead quiet. Saw no rods fire or nets moving. Had the rodent aboard and couldn't shake it. Water was full of dead and/or almost dead, alewives. I've been checking the site to see if things changed. Have an idea where to try this weekend. Will post if anything happens. Still pretty early. Good luck. I have a feeling that after the lake cleans up, the fish will be nice and plump!

I try to give a report whenever I can. I have only been out once for a few hours. I'm sketchy on details when I'm bass fishing(just give a general location) but specific when it comes to salmon and lakers. It doesnt seem much of a secret when you report fishing Converse, Whallon's Bay etc. It doesn't seem to hurt giving depths and colors.
I did fish Saranac Lake last Saturday for northerns. Great trip except for tearing a leak in the boat on a submerged rock. Good news, boat fully repaired in 5 days with an insurance check on the way to cover the damage.

I used to post a lot more, but I fish a lot less on Lake Champlain and when I do I'm usually too tired or busy to follow up on a report. I tended to report timely so other anglers might have insight on the salmon conditions for the coming days, which is why I would read the reports myself.
I think I posted one report on the other forum last year in mid June. I had a great day with my girlfriend on the lake, but it only got maybe one reply from a newbie and then dissappeared onto the next page. I failed to add pictures which seemed to be the norm over there.
Awesome pics beejmac!

I just hope people take the time to post on this forum. I just posted a picture of double kings I got last week on Ontario. I plan to be out on Champlain a good deal once my Mercury is fixed. the compressor blew on Ontario and I lost five days of planned fishing. Makes one appreciate being able to fish.
