Does anyone vertical jig for lake trout? Is it more effective than trolling or raking?

I used a realimage jiggin bait I got from Cabela's... The 2 oz version works great for our lake and depths...
If there are lakers on the bottom, you usually get a hookup within 5 pole lenght jigs everytime... Lakers are a different fight when you aren't trollin 'em.

I like the 1 oz in clown color, but they all work!

I am very excited about trying this method of laker fishing,I have finally solved my big engine problem by buying a new optimax for my boat.I have a I-pilot electric troling motor that will keep you locked onto one spot with no anchor, and as soon as I can find the time I will be after those lakers with jigs and plastics.
