I don't get up to fish Lake Champlain more than once or twice a year. But Harriman Reservoir in Southern Vt is in my back yard almost & I fish it regularly. I do not mind posting regular reports on Harriman if others are interested. I will post about fishing Champlain when I do go there.
Yesterday My buddy & I fished Harriman for the 3rd time this year. The 1st time we got skunked & the 2nd time caught 3 short salmon. There are plenty of salmon in Harriman but they seldom reach legal length with14 inches or so being a good one. Yesterday it was very windy on the water with white caps. The conditions were uncomfortable but the fishing was very good. We ended up boating 14 salmon, brown trout & rainbows. All the salmon were skinny but the brown was a decent size & decent shaped. We lost another half dozen fish. We had 3 on at one time & only boated one. The surface temp was 54 to 55 degrees. Last week it was 60 to 61 degrees. The majority of the fish hit a copper spoon I taped to look like a perch. I believe there is a picture of it on one of my reports from last year. I hope to get pictures on future trips & show the lure. Jerry

Hey Jerry, Thanks for the report, we have not fished yet this season. Glad to see this report and hope to be out soon. My biggest salmon caught there was 18". a trophy for that lake. I will send a pm when we finally hit the lake. Until then, good luck and keep at them.
