I'm headed out there Friday AM, will be fishing that afternoon (hopefully), Sat, Sun, and Monday, headed back Tuesday. Was going to be at Selkirk, but decided to stay at a campground in Oswego and launch from there. From what I've been told, if you need to get to deeper water, it's a shorter run from Oswego than from Mexico.
But I'm far from an expert, it's just what I've been told.
Good luck out there. I haven't been out there in over 15 years, looking forward to it.

Will definitely give a shout out to you out there. My gear is all over the living room, figuring out how to spool up copper, wire, etc. looking forward to it. Wife is away, so I can play, as they say.

Hope you're doing better than us. One monster laker is it today. Heard temps were 70 throughout the entire water column. Riggers at 140 is as deep as I can go, and I heard they're deeper than that!

Mike, temps are very deep...per reports on Lake Ontario United. Fish taken at temps below 160 feet. YOu need an east wind to bring in the cold water.
Or find out where temps are reasonable depth and trailer to it. Fair haven is the same warm water to 150 feet.

I just got back from spending a week in Oswego. Sun and Monday were good days caught a few each day with 24 lbs being the biggest. Tuesday - Thursday were big winds and spent all my time at fat Nancy's , all seasons , and screwy Loueys, spending money on flashers and flies. Friday and Saturday the lake was like glass but the temps were out 400-600 and fish were scattered.

We did pick up one king on Sunday, 140' down. Monday had 3 to 4' swells, so we couldn't get out until it died down some, around 3, but didn't pick up anything Monday. Tough fishing for us, but I enjoyed it none-the-less.
