was wondering if anyone out there fishes for browns, steelhead or salmon at night and what kind of luck or issues did you have. i am seriously thinking of trying this and looking at investing in those submergible green lights and was wondering if anyone out there has any experience with those lights also. any experiences would be greatly appreciated. might even try it through the ice.

I never have, but some fish for trout at night in some inland lakes like Sunset and Glen Lake for rainbows during the summer. They hang a lantern off the side of a boat or canoe to attract plankton/bait fish and that will attract the trout. I would think it would work well in the winter as well.

thanks fishfarmer: i know at lake colby a better part of the trout and salmon fishing is at night. im going to try lake champlain and i have purchased an led green submersible light to attract baitfish. hopefully it works especially for the spooky browns who tend to feed at night for that reason. everything i have seen and heard the green lights are very effective.
