Last night(monday) I was checking out a new area that I had never bow hunted and found the deer were hitting a couple of oak trees hard. I put my climmer up and within ten minutes two does came in. I slamed the biggest doe in the pump house and watched her go down. I had my son come and help me retreive the deer. It was nice to share the kill with my 15 year old. He had missed his first deer with a bow this weekend. We blamed the miss on lack of practice. Thats the learning curve! haha Venison in the freezer! yee haa Good luck everyone Ben Birch

Ben, way to go. Tell your son he is on the right track he has a passion for it and with practice he will succeed. Enjoy your bounty. Capt. Tony www.anbradoncharters.com

Nice job Ben. I put the first deer of the season on the ground last night as well. I'll likely get out again during bow season but now the pressure is off and I get to run my little pointing dog on the grouse and woodcock the rest of October.

We found his (my son)deer this morning after a tough tracking job. A nice yearling doe. His first ever with a bow. To bad a coyote had taken a good chunk of the hind quarter. We were still pumped and had a great hunt.

Steve Way to go bud, now that you got the turf you need some surf to go along with it. Man salmon and venison what could be better than that. Well if you include a Crown Royal or two, now you really talking. Pat

I bought another bow tag and wouldn't you no it a big bear came out just out of range. Had to watch him walk away. what a bruin. I almost had the rifle with me but decided to take the bow in case a buck steped out. What a heart thumper that was! Venison burger gotta love it. I just finished smoking my last batch of laker and salmon. Got a good amount saved for deer camp. good luck and congrats
