Just wanted to remind everyone to check themselfs for ticks after a day of hunting or any outdoor activity for that matter. I found a tick on me yesterday and I got the tick off of me but I don't think I got the head of the tick, heading to the hospital to get it checked out.

Hey Commander
Hope that everything works out for you and you get it taken care of, keep us informed.
Very good suggestion to all about the ticks, it's always nice to be reminded of things such as this.

Hey folks, thanks for the concern. I went to the DR. and they cut open the bite area and flushed it out. The DR told me I got pretty much all of the tick when I pulled it out. He put me on a strong antibiotic for 10 days as a precaution. I dong fine and he said rhat a;though ticks can transmit lyme disease that it was a low proabilty the tick was infected due to how the cycle works.

I had lmye disease several years ago and believe me its no fun. Keep an eye on the area to make sure you don't get a rash, also look for joint pain. I was lucky they caught it in time so I made a full recovery. Good luck.

Hello Champlainfisher
Great reminder we do not always think of ticks here in the north as we should. I came home with one on me last November 1st one that I have ever seen.
Glad your ok.
Thanks Phil B
