We come up to Champlain the third week of May for bass fishing. What a great bass fishery you have. You can't beat the Smallmouth fishing and we allways seem to pick up a 5lb + Largemouth. I heard a lot about Carry Bay for Largemouth. We stay in St Albans Bay, Just wondering is there a way to get into Carry Bay from that side of the lake. Hate to make the trip across and not be able to get in. I only have a 16 foot with a 25 hp motor. I heard rummers that the pass was blocked. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Yes you can get there. Go around the northern tip of North Hero Island and then down the Alburg Passage to Carry Bay. There is also boat launch on Isle La Motte right across from Carry Bay if you want to trailer the boat and save time getting there.

Scott, Thanks for the reply. Thats a long trip with my boat. I was thinking that there was a way in just nothwest of Knight Island. At one time you could get a small boat under RT 2. Is this still possible. Thanks

The Safest way to get into Carrie Bay is to trailer your boat to the boat launch on the east side of Isle Lamotte. Be sure to get the weather forcast before heading out. I don't think it is possible to go under route 2 into Carrie Bay from the Knights Island way. Goood Luck and Be SAFE

Thanks Mike, I will probably trailer the boat. The only other option would be to pass thru the Gut and then north but that is still a long trip with a 25 hp. If I do decide to take the boat trip, I will definitely check the weather report for the day. You never know on Champ. Thanks again and good fishing!!

There is also a pay ramp at the marina by the Rt. 2 bridge. 5 bucks to launch and a closer drive than La Motte
