That's right---NO MONEY AWARDS SHOWN----wouldn't you think that anyone sponsoring the largest derby in VT withe the largest gross dollar return and the largest payouts in the state would take pride in creating just one more column in their chart so that the payouts could appear next to the listings of the fish caught? NO---instead you have to go to the magazine (if you have one) and decipher through all the warm water, cold water, bonus this and bonus that, and team this and team that---just to find out what the potential awards were----when they have ALREADY BEEN PAID OUT--- and we cannot even find them on LCI's own site!!!! that is pretty pathetic!!!! Would you think it would be that difficult to post those awards on their own site?? Not to mention posting them here----where the most anglers in the state regularly check in?

I don't believe any of our local derbies print the cash pay out of dollars. As a non profit the LCI has to comply with all regulations state and federal which it appears they do. I know the gazette shows the list of large pay outs for top fish, someone must have that hanging around somewhere. DRS. Looks like you may just be on a witch hunt as you do not seem to be happy with any information made available and refuse to go to the source. Is there a reason for this?
As for the LCI posting here, they have their own web site and the link has been posted here several times. It is the best place to find information out. (It even has Jim Elhers email address for additional questions.)
I again state that I believe that the LCI does a great job in bring our lake in the forefront of the politicians and works had to get this lake and necessary programs recognized. It is what it takes to get state and federal dollars directed and programs developed to help make our lake better for all. We need to recognize that it takes a lot of money to get even small things accomplished and it can take several years.

Shaye D Wind I remember reading the prizes in the Outdoors magazine as well. I know the All Season is in there also.

Ben,
Thanks for the note. I think you are right. The information any one out there wants is available it is just a few think that big prizes are most important, a few don't really understand what it takes to run a business and need to have reserves for lean times, and I think there are a couple that just have a negative opinion that they want to broadcast and no amount of factual information will satisfy them.
Thanks for the confirmation Ben.

Shade wind the facts are that the LCI does not one thing with the money generated to benifit the Lake Champlain water shed. Now thats a Fact! Thats there own agenda but as a fisherman I feel that they are fleecing our lake and that concerns me. Maybe I could look the other way or be bought off if they put some money into the derby itsself for prizes. Fifty thousand for the prizes for some quality stuff instead of a bags full of crap that was given to them by a dollar store and sponsors. None of the prizes come out of the LCI bank acount, now thats a fact!

Just noticed in the 2006 and 2007 990 (end sept. 30, 2008) that the program service revenue fell from $284,858 to $130,513. I think program service revenue is the registration fees for the derbies. So, if that is what it is, what is the story behind such a precipitous decline in registrations and why no discussion of it. this indicates that about half of the fishermen dropped out of the tournament. Can anyone explain what is program service revenue is and why such a dramatic decline?

You must have been asking a rhetorical question, Mike---since there are NONE of us out here that really know what is going on in this thread that ever expected to hear an answer to this question---or any of the other intelligent questions that you have politely asked for answers to-----for months now!!!! I might add. With almost 10,000 hits, I really believe that there are many, many, anglers that are now taking a very hard look at just what LCI is all about and making some tough decisions about spending scarce resources in challenging economic times. Some of the blind supporters (without many facts) actually about 5 or 6 consistent ones on this thread, have tried to be cute by saying that 10,000 hits is NOT 10,000 different viewers. That is probably true, good members, but I can assure you that it is far more than 5 or 6----and certainly in the thousands----and we ARE NOT DUMB PEOPLE-----just curious answer seekers going prety much unsatisfied with anything from the LCI for months------but you can bet on one thing for sure-----they will be there with bells on in the spring looking for your hard earned money, once again. NOT MINE, FOLKS, NOT EVER, AGAIN!!!!!!!

Here is the results and pay out for the LCI open last week. We did not have enough to weigh in so we stayed out until sunset. Great day on the lake! Nice to meet everyone! 60 boat registered last year and 66 for 2009 so thats an 11% increase if I have my math right? Please look at the bottom also for the $700.00 in Lunker prizes. Not much left over if you ask me? www.lciderby.com/Results/2009%20Bass%20Open%20Results.pdf

Just read over the rules and registration for the Open Bass Tournament. $150.00 per boat so $75.00 per person. Last year there was 60 boats and only 30 weighed in fish. So I have a 1-30 chance at $3000.00 first place! SWEET! ;D
