Fished Outer Malletts Bay the better part of yesterday searching for the reef bugeyes, didn't find them.....! Had several fish on that we never saw, caught several northerns, and oddly one salmon in 20 ft of water, back 180 on a deep diver rebel. Alot of short hits, purple/pink was the hot color(if there was one), both in honeybee spoon 40 back dn 10 on the rigger, and deep diver back off the boards. There was a ton of bait all the way up the fill and around to Thayer Shoal, I couldn't find a walleye to save my life...no doubt they are there with bait in there, quite lumpy til mid afternoon, then it laid down....talked to a buddy who fished Friday night without a release.....they are somewhere!!!!

I hear ya Mike, it has been a struggle. We had the shoal to ourselves all day, not one other boat in there all , which is rare for a weekend. The graph was gorgeous, no clue what is going on.....Kevin Carty (Crackerjack) came out in his little boat while I was out and said he has been out several nights and not done well at all.....so at least were consistent.....LOL......We've done well up North at night, just tough keeping the 7 yr old up that late when it's usually so good right at Thayer's. The good news is were not fighting weeds like normal, the high water and lack of sunlight seemed to have tamed the normal july bloom on the reef..! Gonna try again Thursday...still better than working.!

Hey Scott,
Good to hear from you and trying hard for the eye's. Hope they turn on for you. We are trying the broad lake again tomorrow for silvers with a 1 ft or less chop. Oddly enough the weeds or salad has been missing out there this year.
