We launched the boat at 530am on wed morning at the coastguard station. Myself, Bill and a friend of his named Tom. Tom is still very new to Trout and Salmon Fishing. With the lake looking like glass we took off for Willsborro Bay looking for Salmon. After 3 hours with 1 small salmon we picked up and set up at Port Kent. We fished all the way well north of the Ausable with one small Salmon. I then realized that we were not for from the bump that Philb has been fishing recently off Valcor for lakers. I gave Phil a call. He graciously went home to get me the Numbers!! He called me back a few minutes later with the spot. Wow what a friend! We decided to fish to the bump because we were not very far away. On our way there we landed a very nice 22 inch Salmon! The Salmon came on an MP6. We fished lakers for about 2 hours. We landed 6 Trout, one beauty that went 10.5 pounds. Green magnums did the trick for the lakers. After battling the big laker, Tom said that was a lot of fun, now lets go look for some more Salmon! What a great attitude! We picked up and fished from Willsborrow point to Legioners. But the Salmon did not want to cooperate. Another great day on Champlain. Sorry no time for pics today. Thorny

Sorry I missed the fun, but glad you got a n006 out to test the waters!
We'll have to chat about the mags sometime, as once the 'other' boat is back on the water, I will be better able to target the Lakers...
Thanks for the report!

Hello Rob
Sorry you could not get the Salmon to cooperate.
Glad to see you put a few lakers in the boat and landed a big one.
Maybe next trip out will be all Salmon you never know.
Thanks for the report.
Thanks Phil B

thought I'd add some pics from our outing in NY last week with Rob & Tom Hill, master boat builder from Burlington. Slow day, but we stayed with it and managed to boat some nice fish and it's always a pleasure fishing with Rob. Rob netting 10.5# Laker Tom with large Laker Nice Salmon and Laker
