Nice outing, Bob. I looked at your collection of pics on Photobucket. Those 5# + smallies are really impressive. Are they from this year? I know the 7# + LM was from Bomosseen this year.

Mike, Those big SMs were last fall. One for me and one for buddy Mark. Our best 5 fish that day was right about 24 lbs.Last year was a great year for size. Not so far this year. Bob

just got my boat back from the shop. Haven't fished only but a few times from shore with the kids since the LCI. wondering where the bass bite is good in St. Albans bay area, and if they're hitting spinner, crank, jerk baits. Have never got too much into plastics, as I feel I don't know how to present them right or something. Also does anyone know ehere to go for good Northern fishing, as I usually troll with brokeback rapalas or rattletraps, but have never caught a northern greater than 9 lbs (and that was through the ice with a friend many years ago). Lost a few biggies as a kid during the LCI. We had simple, junk equipment that couldn't handle the fish back then. If only I could hook up with one now, I bet I could take 'em!! Thanks. By the way, I love this site. Alot of people around me in my life get tired of hearing me talk about fishing!!!

For SM get off shore and find rocks, humps and/or weedbeds. For LM find weeds and pencil grass. Work edges and inside weeds and grass. Inside lures: texas rigged plastics, pig & jig, fluke, frog and buzz bait. Texas rig needs 3/8-1 oz bullet head sinker. Pig & jig should b 3/8-1 oz. Specific locations don't always work, as the fish are here today and gone tomorrow. Find the water depth and structure that contain fish and duplicate it in other locations. As far as lures go, I feel that it's a case of whatever works for you. Try different lures and applications until you find what works. I will say that if you don't fish plastics, you will not catch the fish that someone using plastics will catch. Bob
