I finally made it to the lake today. Launched the boat at 8:00am. Wanted to head south towards thompsons but got out near four brothers and there was 2 and some 3 footers from the south. Got on the radio and gave a shout to Vermonster, I asked if was worth the trip down. Shawn said It wasn't any better down there and it was starting to get worst. Decided to try for some lakers. I got to the reef and set up but after boating 1 fish and the wind blowing me in circles I headed towards Browns point. Set up for salmon and trolled for 3hours with 1 stockie to show. No bait spotted anywhere. Headed in and loaded the boat at 2:00 only to find out I had a flat tire on the trailer. Got the tire off ( of course no spare) and went to a friends house just down the road. Tire fixed and back at the boat, the problems begin. I could not get the jack high enough to put the tire back on. I found a block of wood in the parking lot, let the trailer down on the block so I could get the jack under the axle, block split, down comes the trailer. No damage done try try again. All goes well this time. Get the jack under the axle start to jack and the jack breaks. Borrowed a jack from a fellow boater and finally fixed and on my way. If this happened to anybody else I don't think I would believe it. Still better than working. Shawn, Thanks for the heads up, wish I could have made it down.

Wow, murphy's law hit you big time. I keep at least one chunk of 4 by 4 wood for jacking in my pickup.

Sorry about the problems brother. We got up this am and the wind sock looked like it was on Viagra. We were going to give it a bid but decided otherwise. Got back home around (:30 and it turned sunny and beautiful down here in fair haven. Go figure. I am glad you didnt end up breaking anything serious or get hurt. Much better fishing and weather will come. We will get together then.

After almost sinking the boat a week or two ago I figure that if everything bad happens in one day it will be smooth for the rest of the season and the "fish gods" will reward you in some way.

Murphy smacked you alright, sorry to hear that. But like Shawn said, nothing broke and nobody hurt.
Don't forget to replace the jack!
I think I'll get a 4x4 to carry.

OUCH. That is one rough day in many more ways then one! It was hot and humid to boot. Maybe the rest of the year will go smoth.
Any yes, I think a 4x4 piece of wood will soon by in the bed of my truck too.
