Made the trip up to a friends camp in Albany, Vt on Friday. He got out of work late so by time we got there and ate dinner (our wife's were hungry) we only had 45 minuted to fish on Willoughby. one release and no one home.
Headed back to the Lake Sat at about 9:30am. My buddy doesn't wake up early, but makes a nice breakfast. We fished until 2:00pm and no fish. Has a few releases, but no one home.We tried spoons, stickbaits and dodger and fly's and just about every depth we could. Every trolled around the whole lake twice. Couldn't mark any fish or bait.
We then headed to Salem Lake. Fished from 2:45 to 8:00pm got 5 monster perch and a 3 pound bass. Marked fish and bait fish every where's just couldn't get a walleye.
We had a great weekend and the weather was great. Might have to try it one more time before deer season.

MrW - thanks for the report. Willoughby is a tough bite if you don't spend time there figuring things out, but I guess it 's that way anywhere. My wife grew up in Brownington so she has been bugging me to head that way...soon.

I spent a lot of time in Brownington camped by Stone-House Pool...
I have never fished the lake, but fully intend to when I get my boat straightened out...
Thanks for the report...

Mr. Walleye, / Did you try any long lines? I caught a salmon and rainbow on long lines with needle fish, the last couple of weeks on Willoughby... I also caught salmon at 50 feet on riggers and 25 feet on sliders. I'm only good for one fish an hour on Willoughby but I coudln't find any action on the North end. Only the middle to the south end. I used needlefish with anything with orange seeming to be a good bet. I have not tried dodgers or flys or anything. I have had luck from 6 am to 9 am and 12p to 3p. I don't think I've broke the 3lb mark yet but still nice to oogle the view and catch some fish. I did get a hold of a laker at about 20 inchs over close to the sub-culture sun block only "clothing optional" beach.... ;D
