Got out late in the afternoon with a buddy, and we decided to try something different. After we trolled for a couple of hours (2 shakers, 1 stockie), we headed out off Savage and dragged some worms and minnows out at the drop, from 60 to 120' down. Marked alot, hoped we might bump into a walleye. Long story short, caught some perch, not much else. Got ready to re-rig, and try trolling for eyes, and as we were reeling in from about 90' down, we both got bites right at the surface. Dropped back in, and we caught a bunch of white perch, up to 12-13 inches. Must have been right in the middle of a whole school, sitting about 5-6' down over 90' of water. We probably caught 20 or 30 till the bait ran out. Threw them all back, but had second thoughts about that later, as they are supposed to be very tasty. Very interesting evening, no luck on the eyes though....

Randy Great report. We fished the sea today for Salmon and did well. There are eyes out there and even though you did not catch one it sounds like you had a good time. If you would not mind could you provide more specifics on the white perch location? A pm perhaps? I love those guys and always looking for information on them. Thanks. Capt. White perch can be a lot of fun when you get into a school of them. Especially if your prepared and have some light tackle for them. I personally don't care to eat them though.

I've also been told that they are good eating...
Try them sometime on small ice 'Crappie Rods'...
Kids can't stop laughing when you get into em...
