Never fished Champlain before and am looking to put the boat in either at Whitehall or Ticonderoga. Does anyone know where would be better to put in to fish bass?
Thanks very much.

I am hoping someone will be kind enough to respond with some of their knowledge. I am taking my 9 and 7 year old sons who are just getting into the sport and I would love nothing more than to show them a great day of bass fishing.
Thank you so much.

Yankee,
Can't be of much help as I do all of my fishing on the northern end of the lake, but a guy I work with says he has had some good luck around the old ferry dock in Crown Point. From what I can gather all the south end holds some good bass, so you are probably good launching in either location.
If you trip is not for a couple of weeks I suggest you pick up a Hot Spot map (Lake Champlain South). You can get them over the internet I think and they really helped me when I first moved to the region.
Tight Lines,

Either put in spot will get you around lots of LM fishing. Whitehall (South Bay) opens into a large, fairly shallow lake-like area, which would probably be better for fishing with kids. Ticonderoga area generally requires some serious weed fishing, which can be tough for kids.
