Any suggestions as to where I could rent a small power or row boat for a week? I'll be renting a waterfront cottage in Keeler's Bay (South Hero) from the 23rd of July and am looking for a way to get around--but not looking to go cross-lake...
Thanks in advance for any suggestions...

centralct,
Never need to rent before, the only place I know of is up in North Hero. They do rent for the week, but they are on the other side of the island and I believe the smallest boat they have is 16' with a 25hp. Not sure If that is bigger than what your looking for.
I'm sure there's a couple of place you could rent from. If all else fails, ask the locals when you get into South Hero/Keeler Bay. The store on the corner of the ferry road will likely know where you can find a place.
Good Luck,

Gander Mountain has a store in Plattsburgh, NY. I know they rent boats but don't know any of the details. You could call them and see if you could rent one and trailer it to Keeler Bay. Here is their website. www.gandermountain.com/fishing/boats.asp

Thanks again...Turned out I did not rent a boat...Found some great fishing from the shore during my recent GREAT week up in Keeler Bay. (See my post under Can't Seem To Catch Anything thread.) ...What a great place to fish. Wish we could keep it to ourselves
