My son told me he is pulling his boat out of storage this week and looking to go fishing. He said that Lake Ontario is completely open with no ice anywhere. He says Oneida Lake is all broken up and the ice is going out. He thinks it will be ready to fish this weekend. He said that surprisingly the ground is basically bare and except for what remains of some snow banks or piles that are in the shade.
This should be an accurate report because my son is in the USCG and station there in Oswego.
It makes me want to tow my rig out west and visit my kid for a few days or a week.

Hey Fishing Eagle, Thanks for the report! I was considering getting the boat ready next weekend but I may do it this weekend and fish next weekend, weather permitting.
Tight lines!

Well if you are going out west to the Oswego area, you will be all set. I wish we could get our boats out on our local lakes next weekend. Actually I will be busy next weekend on the 25, 26 & 27 with our display booth for the Lake George Fishing Alliance at the Great Upstate Boat Show at the dome in Queensbury.
But I will be able & ready to go fishing on Monday the 28th.
