I am planning on a long weekend up on Champlain and will be staying south of Burlington, VT. Not exactly sure where as of yet.
My understanding is that there are quite a few different species to fish for in the lake.
I am primarily a Walleye and Pike fisherman - should I concentrate on either of these because this is what I know best or should I keep my options open?
Also, I noticed on a bathyspheric map that I downloaded last year that there are some REALLY deep stops. Does Champlain hold lakers? How is lake trout fishing there?
Thanks in advance.

Walleyes are hard to come by in the Lake. Their population has been decimated over the past few years by lampreys and fishing durng the spawn. There are some there but I'll be damned if I can find them. Salmon or lakers are a better bet.
