just read an article in the Rutland Herald stateing that the New England cottontail rabbit is extinct in Vermont,is this true? If it is true,then what are all these bunnys I see on peoples lawns around here?

There are actually (or was) two species of cottontail in vermont, and from what ive read its super hard to tell the difference between the two. I also read that they had a limited range, much like the two species of grouse we have here.

Ill ask the cotton tails in my freezer. I know my freinds and I didn"t shoot half of what we saw. Like to hear the beagles have fun with them. If theres more than one kind of cotton tail in N.E . Then i guess i learned something today!

There are definately two seperate species: The New England Cottontail (Sylvilagus transitionalis) and The Eastern Cottontail (Sylvilagus floridanus),

We Have a male and female beagle, who are expecting their second litter. should be due within the next 4 weeks and will be ready to go 8-12 weeks after they are born. They will have AKC papers, first shots and d- wormed. $200-$250 each. wabbit Hunting is in the blood. My dogs run them all Snowshoes, eastern western norhtern and occasionally the southern most illusive jackalopes
