Alburg Passage from Carry Bay to Goose Point is now frozen solid. Saw just one guy out today though.
Missisquoi from just south of the RR bridge north is frozen over, and withstood the high winds, shelf ice south of the sand bar causeway at the park.
No idea if any of this ice is safe.

Sounds like there might be hope for the weekend if the cold comes like it's supposed to. Going to bring my auger with me tomorrow and drill some close to shore test holes to and from work in the ponds I listed.
Also heard a report Cochester pond is covered, should get a better report from there this afternoon or tomorrow.

Down on this end the lake finally froze over this past weekend, but the last couple days of 40's temps and rain about wiped it out. Supposed to be cold tonight, but then after that not so cold...I think it's going to be a short season on the south lake. I also think the Frost Biters are to blame!!! They must have some kinda Voodoo spell thingy going on using snakes and chicken blood to keep the ice off the lake. The only way to break the spell is to dump a bag of ice in their boats under a full moon while holding a dead mouse between your teeth...tough spell to break.

I have just been driving by those spots, so I contribute where I can. I don't usually start ice fishing til it freezes over by my house, and stays froze over past the first wind storm. The Inland Sea froze over more this morning, but I have seen it come and go at this time of year with every strong wind. If it is still frozen this weekend, I will probably start contributing reports. As they say, "There are old fisherman, and bold fisherman, but no old bold fisherman."
