Nice fish and the satisfaction of getting it on your own painted bait had to make it extra special!

I have no idea how long it took , I damn near wet my pants,I was so excited. we had fished 3 days and the biggest was 18 # until this one hit a crawdad husky jerk on wednesday afternoon,I knew it was a big one,but you just can't be prepared when you finally see one that big behind the boat, and because the water was so muddy you don't get to see the fish until it's right in your lap.

I was fishing the Hudson last weekend too!!! Nice fish! I am wondering if you heard about the 35+ fish that was caught and had a fishing pole attached to it?? Anyone hear about that? One of the guys we were fishing with wasn't paying attention and had a fish on, before he had a chance to grab the rod, it went overboard rod holder and everything! Rumor has it (over the radio) someone caught it, I would love to hear the story and/or see the pictures!!

If I hear about that one I will post it,the bigest one I have heard about was one Marty Markowski got a few years ago that was a big male that weighed 54#.My old fishinmachine has landed 2 that were in the 40 # range over the years.one was 39# 6 oz and the other was 40# 10 oz.That's why we still keep going back almost every year.

I am now hooked myself and I only caught a 10 lb 14 oz....... Yes please ask around and let me know if you hear anything!! I can only imagine the "score" factor of reeling in a monster and getting a free fishing pole to boot!!!
