We went up Sat. morning. The weather was poor & did not get out until Sunday. Sunday was not a full day of fishing. Conditions were still rough but my son Jeremy picked up some bass in Inner Mallets Bay. We could not get onto the main lake until Tuesday. The water was very dirty until we got out past Stave Island but the water surface temp went from around 52 degrees to around 42 degrees. Trolling for trout & salmon was a bust but the bass fishing was ok. The only lure the bass hit on the whole trip was a chartreuse & yellow chatter bait. We got stopped by the State Police while trolling on the main lake. They checked that we had our life vests & that 5 year old Dylan had his on & left us alone to fish until we were coming back through the railroad opening. They stopped us again & gave us an inspection. We passed ok & got a sticker for our boat. When asked if they wanted to see our fishing licenses, because they saw us fishing they said no that was for fish & game to check. The 2 guys were very decent & we chatted awhile before they left. Tuesday Jeremy did ok on the bass again. He caught some in the Inland Sea but did better in the dirty water on the main lake. Trolling picked up that late afternoon. Little Dylan had a tough time keeping the fish on the line. None of the 3 fish on stayed on. One hit a copper spoon with purple & chartreuse tape that was on a cheater line. It was a heavy fish that took line out before coming off. Wednesday morning it was raining again when I woke up at 6am. When Dylan got up he wanted to go home to see his mom. The forecast didn't sound good so that was the end of our trip. We put more time bass fishing than we normally do & it paid off. We had a great time. I would like to get up again for some more trolling though. Jerry
