3 sports on the boat today for their 1st Frostbite experience. Dragginballs came along to help run the boat and boy did we need him! The windy forcast was kinda scary but never really materialized. 1 fish on the first pass and then the doubles never really stopped. OK now we had a limit in the box for a hungry crew. Now we can start culling out the smaller ones. Let's find a big one. Deep rod fires on the corner,I look back and see a big tail out of the water. Kevin clear the spread! Here we go again. All rods are pulled. All cables are up. We have the fish off the starboard corner. I warn Ron be ready for a hard run. One look at the net and the fish went nuts! A couple more jumps and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Ok we have some more work to do. Finally after about 15 min with the boat in neutral we slid the net under a very fat 24 inch 7.25lb Salmon. OK we can breathe now. Let's reset and I'll start cleaning. Normally when I start cleaning...shit happens. After I get through about half of the fish Kevin says maybe it won't happen today. Wrong!!! Fish on then doubles. We had some seagulls feeding on cleaning scraps when a gull picked up a Crazy Ivan Munchkin. We turned the boat to port and carefully brought the bird in to the port side. With some good gloves we carefully brought the bird in the boat and untangled it,took the Munchkin out of it's Beak and it happily flew away! Back to fishing and cleaning. Reset the spread and tripples with a 5 pounder in the mix. Sorry guys...they all go back. Man I'll never get these fish cleaned. Only 2 rods still in the water and one fires. Justin....your on. We think is another big one. Well not quite I eventually slid the net under two 4 pounders on one rod! Man these guys saw it all today, what a blast! I have open dates for the weekend following thanksgiving.
