I have a Eagle GPS/ Fishfinder combo on my boat for the last 5 years works great, never had a problem with it. I just upgraded to the new HDS 7 by lowrance but I'm still keeping the eagle hooked up to.

I'm a Lowrance guy. Have been since 1984 or so. I started with an X-4 then an X-65 and last year I got the LMS-520c. Great units.Could be more user friendly. I don't know about the bad service. I have only had to send my X65 back because the screen lost its seal {cloudy} and I got it back in a week. My old x-4 still works it's on my friend's son's boat. Mark

i have a old impulse 2830 loran/fishfinder. i have ran this unit for 17 years and it has worked flawlessly. the only problem is they are no longer made. wanting a newer model graph, i purchased a Lowrance hds-5x sonar. hd looks like the way the market is going. i keep my fish finder and gps separate that way if there is a issue with one or the other i don't loose both if it has to be sent out for repairs. also i don't care for the split screen.
Kris: Lowrance is new territory for me, but it has always been a favorite of most fisherman.

I have a raymarine c80, fishfinder, gps and radar. It's a great unit and I'd definately go Raymarine again if i decide to get a new one.

When we ran the 210, we installed a Lowrance 68c, small, color, and both GPS/Fishfinder. It worked great, and it's still offered.

I use a old Garmin 48 GPS hand held with bouy markers and works like an Etch-A-Skech but allows us to follow the line back. I bought a Eagle 480 black & white with speed /temp a few years ago for a couple hundred buck that gives me about all the info I need but, the new stuff is cool.

I had an inexpensive humminbird can't recall the model number and it was great and I know it sold for under $300, I sold that boat and bought a new one and it had a Lowrance X125(no gps) already installed and it didn't work very well at all. It would lock to a certain depth and stay there for up to an hour whether trolling or under power. It would not mark bait fish. I replaced it with a hummin bird 907C and I like this one even though I'm still learning how to use it. Good luck with your purchase!!

Lowrance service is GREAT! You just need to talk with the right person. Contact Linda Colt: 913-438-8747 linda.colt@navico.com Quite sure that I read on another forum that Linda Colt is no longer there and there was a lot of guys complaining about that. I have a Lowrance LCX-15MT and when it was 13 months old it crapped out, keep blowing fuses when I powered it on. I was on hold for over 2hrs with Lowrance customer service before I got thru and then was told I would have to send it in for repair. The only good thing was they still honored the warranty but it took them 3 weeks to get a unit back, that's right a replacement unit. What they do is is keep a stock of units that have been repaired and when you send yours in they send you another that has been repaired. If they don't have a repaired unit to send you, you could be waiting quite awhile for yours. Go to some other fishing forums and you will read some real horror stories, for every good story you read, which are few, there are 10 bad ones. So this is just my personnel opinion on this, when I replace my FF I will think long and hard about Lowrance. Pat

We have a Furano, it is older, and still works flawlessly...I also have a Lowrance GPS, and it is having issues. I can say it had issues several years ago, and the service from Lowrance then was good.....sounds like they are hit or miss now.....! The bad news with Furano is you have to dig deep into the wallet, they are very pricey......! Depends what you want to use it for I guess...

I use Humminbird 386c Combo. It gives you GPS and 2D sonar for $299.And I also use Lowrance bestoutdooritems.com/best-fishfinder-gps-combo/ And I know that Lowrance made in Mexico and Humminbird made in Alabama. If I were looking for another unit, I think I'd go with another Lowrance. They are similar as far as charting and sonar go but I honestly believe the Lowrance is a little more user-friendly and with all the stuff they do...easier is better.
