Did two more pike charters Saturday and today. Caught over 35 pike and bass in 6 hours on Saturday and had another 40 fish day today. Caught two fish worth mentioning today. One was just about 12 pounds and this one was over 15 pounds and 42 inches long... www.angelfire.com/home/lake/images/pikemick92109.jpg I'm seeing more guys fishing in the spots where I've been lately. The background of the photos must be giving away the hot spots. Anybody catching any big ones? Captain Mick www.LakeChamplainAngler.com

Capt. Mick, That Pike is outstanding. Congratulations to the lucky angler. Did you keep it or release it? We have also been getting into some nice Pike and Bass lately. They seemed to really have turned on recently. Thanks for the great picture. Capt. Tony www.anbradoncharters.com

For pike, those spinner baits I used Tam's tape on (blue on the part or all the blades) worked great on pike. Bass didn't seem to care for it but the pike/pickeral won't leave it alone. HAPPY to help pike fisherman catch those damn things... ;D

Yup, spinner baits, all colors, # 5 red and white bucktail Mepps and Red Eye Wobblers. Places like Carry Bay, Alburg Pass to Misisquoi Bay, Keeler Bay, Inner Mallets Bay, The Gut, Isle le Mott to Rouses Point and south of the Crown Point Bridge to name a few. Where ever there are weed beds. And yes, I have loads of largemouth and smallie pictures to show folks of bass caught on spinner baits and Mepps spinners. They are mostly a "bi-catch" when pike fishing though. Not so many bass on the Wobblers.

Thanks for the photo Capt. Northern Pike are a great angling opportunity on Lake Champlain. A real chance to tangle with larger fish in relatively shallow waters. There isn't any pike fishing in southern VT except for the CT River.
