Nothing can beat a open discussion between intelligent people.
Good start for 2010 and the best for the Lake Champlain.

Great. I'm glad to hear you two were able to work it out. Thanks for the update, I was going to wait for the holiday dust to settle before I asked.

Oh yeah!!! How nice----what would have been more gentlemanly---more ethical---and what a REAL MAN would do---is to have had this conversation before pirating another's hard work and then attempting to "make it all right" by concocting some bull story about how it is all for the "betterment of the lake". I will guarantee there is more to this "settlement" than meets the eye. Nothing new here---always just on the right side of legality---but on the slippery edge of ethical behavior. And all the usual supporters singin' cumbayah.

That's good news Capt. Mick. Was hoping it would turn out this way. Fighting and negativity is easy, getting along takes a little work and some thought.

Getting upset about things that you fully don't understand can be frustrating. I also believe this will bring more hits to your site as well. Thanks for clearing the air Capitan Mick.
Happy New Year to you as well. Cumbayah!

Ben---with all due respect, you have already distinguished yourself as someone who made many promises to act as the conduit for James Ehlers in the great controversy of WHERE ALL THE MONEY WENT from the LCI---and fell apart miserably in that regard----like I said---another LCI suck-up---which is fine---and your choice.
There ARE rules of ethics that apply to many things---including Internet Usage. There are very few people who would agree with you if you think it is all right (just because it is legal) to notice that someone has a VERY POPULAR WEBSITE that is getting a sizeable number of hits and then say to yourself, "gee I would like to capture those viewers so I will buy a domain with essentially the same tag except I will change just one letter so that anyone who misspells the http will AUTOMATICALLY be shuttled to MY site".
Instead of this smarmy way of pirating just the poor spellers---the more ethical approach would be to simply have a conversation with the owner of the original site and ask him to please put a link on his site that would direct ALL of his viewers to the other site----and then agree to do the same in return----that would surely be the fairest and most broad support for the Lake and all it represents. Is that what happened? I think not. Do you fully understand that, Ben? Or do you just always create excuses for bad behavior that suit your purpose? Since this whole thing started back after the Derby, all you LCI supporters have been in denial and refusal to deal with the FACTUAL aspects of LCI financing and operation. Rather, you take on the LCI's tactic of attacking the character or the intelligence of ANYONE who dares to question, or who presents facts that are unfavorable to the LCI----such as this one here---it is only a forum, Ben---and one that should encourage understanding and intelligent discussion between members---not some lockstep, one view approach that denies that there are always at least two sides to any discussion. Perhaps, in the interest of a more enlightened membership on this forum you could explain how it is that we who think that this was not a very nice thing to do to a hard working Charter Captain are "not fully informed". My God, don't leave us all in the dark---inform us. We are not BAD people, Ben, just because we do not happen to agree with you, we just think that it was not a nice thing to do to anothers website. And we DO understand why Captain Mick would rather resolve it rather than fight about it----that is NOT the point---the point is that there should have been enough respect in the first place not to have allowed this to happen. HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR----ALL.

Hark!!!!! I think I hear someone who has little to say about the facts---yes---another cute wise guy-----one who has a whole 10 posts here-----obviously knows a whole lot about the issue----or at least enough to act like all the other LCI suck-ups---when you don't know anything you can always call the other guy names---but whatever you do, NEVER---I REPEAT---NEVER---reply with any facts that refute the other's argument---FOB (friend of Ben) let it rest there!!!!! You guys all act like a bunch of harry high schoolers----all singing rah-rah-rah together-------grow up.

Captain:
Glad you were able to "resolve" the conflict to the best of your interests. It was a crappy situation from the get-go. Him agreeing to not renew the domain if it hurt you was a nice 'gesture'. I am a supporter of your website and frequent it often. Great pictures, info, and links!
Donsreelsports: I hate to flaunt this: (but it seems you have no problem openly flaming) I am disappointed in your responses to not only Ben but new members. Ben is a valued asset to our community (both on-line and for us anglers on the water or in the store.) He doesn't need to be thrown under the bus.

Looks like things are getting out of hand again...it's a shame we can't just talk about fishing...I've seen enough flaming on other hobby boards...give it a rest.
