Second trip of the year. Started out very slow on Friday morning with very few boats around. Set up in 120 and trolled north. Started marking some singles and some bait around 300 but no takers. Trolled out to 550 and the dipsy fires. 330 out with white spinny/hammer fly. Picked up a small king. Reset it, it fires again. Continued to fire that setup for the next 3 hours. Finally after 7 smaller fish, I decided to troll back in a look for some hogs tight to the bottom. Got to 125 and the same dispy setup fires. 20.5lb king. Marked tons on fish in 125 for the next 2 hours but didn't fire another rod. Ended up with the 20lb king, 3 smaller kings and a 6lb brown. Threw back the rest including a 5lb steelie.
Saturday, temp was like bath water. Temp was aound 120'. Started out west and took 3 hits early over 140'. A nice brown and 2 smaller kings. Some big fish were being caught to the west some we trolled past the college. Finally decided to go back out deep. Picked up and ran to 600' and set up. Temp was deep (150') so we started trolling back in a took a small king on a rigger 125'. Got a call that there were big fish in 120' between Alcan and 9 Mile so we ran in. Took an 11lb coho 365 on the wire white spinny/hammer fly. Continued to mark big hooks but no takers for the next couple hours. Finally decided to head for the launch at 4 knowing it would take a couple hours to troll back in. Trolling west in 125' the #1 rigger fires pulling a chrome green dot spinny/ hammer fly and after a 15 minutes battle a 23lb king hits the floor. Finished up with the 23lb king, 11lb coho and a 6lb brown. Threw back 3 or 4 smaller fish.
Came home Saturday night to beat the storm. Looked like Sunday was a blowoff anyway.
