Just got back from the St. Regis area this morning. Made a later than planned start last Friday am, but miraculously by the time we hit the water ther was only a light sprinkle despite the dark low clouds. Friday afternoon caught three small bass-2sm-1 lm. Ate dinner-back in the little boat- one small SM and lost a small Lm. THEN- about 8:30 tossed a senko along the weeds-the line took off diagonally across the bow from right to left, reeled like crazy to pick up the slack, set it, and pulled in a 4-5 lb. smallmouth after it jumped five or six times once almost into the boat. Sorry-no picture-have to take my word on it. Hey I'm a fisherman--I don't lie.

Looks like you had a great trip George. I was up on Otter Lake a couple weeks ago. It is in the Old Forge area. The fishing was great there too. Not much cover so every dock had several LM on them.
I like seeing the kayak fishing. Maybe we can get the club to figure out a way to do a kayak/canoe tournament next year.

Brian, I have a lot of fun fishing in the kayak. I usually fish smaller lakes and ponds or rivers in the yak. We would need to figure a way to record our catch to have a tournament. George

I am all for a canoe/kayak tournament. Maybe a paper tournament that would not count in AOY. I think it would be a blast. George, how did you get sunshine???

Some really nice fish, and a great way to fish them...
I keep trying to get my kid to understand that she can do the same from her kayak...

Brock, We had a great week. One day of rain and we used that day to go to the Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake. If you haven't been to the Adirondack Museum it is worth the trip! A paper kayak/canoe tournament sounds good to me.
Salmoneye, Keep after her. There are many places that a kayak or canoe will go that the boat will not. The fish are there waiting to have their pictures taken.
George

Thanks for the report an pics. Nice healthy bass. A person could spend a life time exploring and fishing the countless Adirondack lakes and ponds. Plenty of public access and stunning natural beauty.
