I'll print it out and give it to you. Its pretty straight forward. There is a pie chart that shows where the money goes.

Well, guys, one thing is certain, as shown by the financials and clearly pointed out on this forum many times by many members. If you are in the same quandry as to whether or not to participate in the LCI---please remember that if you are doing so because you think that any of your money is going to go back to the lake---think again---because it ISN'T. Clearly, most of the money goes to support a LOBBYIST------PERIOD.

Greetings all, brand new member here, if you see a Lund 24' hard top named MAEFLY out on the lake this year, be sure to say hi ! I wanted to comment on the LCI derby. I used to fish it every year, it was a fun weekend with the family. But, south of the bridge where I fish it became nothing but a mega bass tournament. And when the LCI added yet another bass tournament, I gave up. As far as where the money goes ? Never gave it much thought until reading this thread. I dont think there's anything sinister going on there, I think (just my opinion) that Ehlers has a lot of irons in the fire, and maybe the LCI is simply how they fund all there other activities. Some benefits the lake, but I dought that all of it does. Thats my two cents worth...look forward to getting to know the water north of the bridge this year, and hope to see some of you out on the water.

Hey Mayfly, welcome to the board. I fish down south for bass 95% of the time. Not all the bass fisherman were in the LCI, there were other tournaments going on at the same time as the LCI out of Ti or other launches last few years. June is always busy. Ti chamber of commerce used to publish the fishing calendar but last year they didn't for some reason. If I remember right, there was BASS or FLW affiliated event out of Ti fathers day weekend last year.

Hi Schodack, yes, your right, lots of tournies at the same time during the LCI. One year it was a real zoo, LCI and FLW tried using the Ti launch at the same time ! Poor planning to say the least. And every launch down south has a local tournie that weekend to. Thats pretty much the reason I skip the LCI now, just to chaotic for my liking. But, I think I may start keeping my boat in a marina up north, so I might fish it again. Take care, and thanks for the reply.

The LCI you have to remember is big enough now www.eri-nonprofit-salaries.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=NPO.Summary&EIN=030360467&TrkID=553-255that it takes massive work , dedicated staff and above all money to make sure they generate enough money to have on hand to use to make sure they generate enough money so they can use that money to generate enough money to make sure they are bringing in enough money so that they can raise money for next year. At this point it is about even with a homeless guy on the corner with a sign saying DON'T FORGET OUR VETS, and he takes in way over half a million dollars a year with a staff of 5 plus volunteers, dinners and fund raisers all year, and all to make sure he can do nothing but be on that corner with a sign. does it help? sure, beats no sign at all. is it financially efficient? nope. You can pretty much hang a banner, hand out bumper stickers, make up lawn signs, wear a button, make hats online, and those things pretty much hold themselves up. Does the LCI make a positive impact on the lake? I'd say no, not at this point it has not realized any goals ever mentioned or implied, other than the shadowy promise of spreading awareness of the Lake and care of it. I'd say for the money, mailers would about match it, and free Lake Champlain fishing outfits to kids and youth would make a better impact. once you were raising money to get an elephant to carry a banner, now all the effort is in keeping that elephant fed, housed and care for.

Good Points. I have to agree. Hard to determine what impact their having on the lake other then making people aware its a pretty good fishery. Captain Bill Birch www.champlainfishingcharters.com/

hi Im section 8. im the lawyer representing a fisherman on this forum who has answers to answer franks answers.frank answered all questions at the beginning of this thread. heres how they help the lake..02 percent goes to educating us about the tournaments they are throwing. the other way they help is by holding these tournaments. straight from the lawyers mouth. jim is all over the country helping educate people about the tournaments he organises because more people catching more fish in more boats burning more fuel helps the lake make him and his LAWYER more money. Hes getting paid money to do it. how selfless of him. how does a non profit end up with profits every year? ?if they dont make x amount of dollars the awards are smaller so if they surpass x amount of dollars the awards should be more rather than profit at a non profit. me, my wife, and my friend dave all do the the lci every year for 70 dollars. not this year. were gonna give the 70 apiece to something that helps the lake. ive never weighed a fish in but thought we helped out. any suggestions. its not because they dont help. its because they are deceptive and elusive and shady like dick cheney or at least dicks lawyer.lci is nothing more than a business tha should be paying taxes because they make profits every year and keep them in a bank like every other for profit business.

Anyone Remember when they gave away a fully riged Grady White with downrigger, with top of the line electonics back in 85? Back then there was no Warm, Cool, and Cold water classes. Everyone competed for the same.......huge prize. I like what they have done since, however, first place cold water team should get a fully rigged 18' Lund with downrigger or a Starcraft being they are sponsers. Cool Water.....same thing, and warm water should be a 198VX Ranger bass boat.....or something to that caliber. They could do that, and still have planty of money after. Right now, they are getting a huge discount on the prizes, being the prizes are all from sponsers, they get the stuff at a discount. I love fishing the LCI, and will continue, but a little more needs to come back to the anglers, I agree 100%
If you win a species prize, you get about $2,000 a tee shirt, some line, a bobber kit, and a 9hp moter your never likely to use, and they got for next to nothing. then you have to pay taxes on it, and sell it lol
